    Hillenbrand's Unbroken

I did not see a thread on this book. I read it earlier this year and thought it was the best book I read all year.

Excellently written, unbelievable story. Like a real life Forest Gump.

Most sports fanatics like me know the name Roger Bannister as the first four minute miler, hard to believe EZ should have had his name live forever.

    Great story, great writing.

I am reading this now. It is spectacular, and a great reminder of the sacrifices that people made in WWII.

I read this last year as well. I spent the entire read shaking my head in disbelief that anyone could survive such an ordeal let alone live a long and "relatively" normal life afterward. Anyone, especially professional athletes, who complain about having a hard life should read this book - perhaps it will help in gaining perspective.
