Thanks everyone! The thoughts and well wishes really mean a lot to us. Special thanks to Tony for checking on us and posting an update.
They were born this morning at 11:05am and 11:06am at 32 weeks and one day. The doctors were concerned about cord entanglement the entire time and they were right. Their cords were a mess. We were quite fortunate. The doctors said that our 32 week target was a great decision.
They're currently in the GBMC NICU doing well. The doctors said that they are where they figured they would be in terms of development. They can breath on their own with some assistance. Without the assistance their breathing is a bit labored. They suggested that their condition may get worse in the next few days, but that's not uncommon. We're just going to take it a day at a time. The NICU roller coaster.
Anyway, here they are.
Baby A - Nolan - 17 inches / 4lb 14oz
Baby B - Brooks - 17.25 inches / 3lb 15oz
I'll keep updating this thread when I have some new information. I'm sure we'll hit a few bumps here and there, but we're so happy that they made it to 32 weeks. Those cords were unbelievable.
Again, thanks again for everything. My wife and I can't thank you guys enough. She really enjoys reading this thread.
Little fighters already. We'll keep the prayers and good wishes coming. The power of the Hangout at it's best!
Looks like a solid double play combination to me!
Congratulations and best wishes.
Great stuff! Congratulations. Good name choices.
Given out too much rep/must spread rep, blah blah....
Just now saw this. Congrats Shane and all. Great news!
Nolan and Brooks! Couldn't be any more perfect!

Congratulations!Your boys have proven that miracles do still exist. Hoping that the next several days will pass quietly, without any major worries for you and your wife.
Awesome news, Shane.
Shane, I am so happy for you and yours - thoughts and well wishes with all of you.
Just wonderful news.
Thank you so much for sharing your good fortune and experience with all of us here. WE are all pulling for you.
Great Names.
Congratulations sbauer! I'm sure it's a relief to have them safely out, and have no doubt that the NICU folks will take great care of them. NICU workers are a special breed of people, no doubt.
Now let's get HbgOsFans's triplets out, and we're over halfway to a starting nine!
The boys look better than my boy did at 32 weeks. I've told you before, but it never hurts to repeat it, you're in great hands at GBMC. Get your sleep now while the boys are in the NICU, because once they're home...fuhgeddaboudit.
Congratulations mom and dad.
Great choices on the names, BTW.
If you feel any seismic activity from the great American Southwest, that will be me doing a happy dance in honor of the Bauer family.![]()
They sound like ballplayers! And I see you took my advice () on not giving them names that start with the same first letter. They will thank you later! Congratulations again! They are adorable.
Congratulations!!!
