They're still not sure about that. They tried giving Brooks a bottle today. He sucked a little bit, but wasn't too good at it. They're just too small/young to be perfect with it. They'll just continue to try it. Nolan managed to rip his feeding tube out of his nose yesterday. He seemed to enjoy that.
We're actually doing pretty well. Our babies are progressing so we can't complain.
Nolan and Brooks are now officially just feeders and growers in the NICU. They removed Brooks' incubator from his room yesterday. His temperature has been fine since his move to a crib so they just took it out of the room.

Excellent update.
Thanks for allowing us to follow along and be able to share in your joy. I know of so many friends (also including myself), who are really having a tough winter. Being able to follow along with the progress of your little guys, it's been a real emotional treasure for me.
Once again, thanks for sharing.

The boys are still feeders and growers. They're still learning how to handle the bottle, but that's not unexpected. They've tried it several times, but they're only able to do 5cc in 15min. The feeding tubes are still attached and they're getting 40cc (Nolan) and 35cc (Brooks) through that. Meanwhile, all of their blood work still looks good. Not a whole lot has changed.
Since yesterday, Nolan has pulled out his feeding tube twice. I'm sure he'll be excited to finally get it out. Brooks doesn't seem to mind the feeding tube as much as the CPAP machine. He hated that.

Brooks just hit the 4lb mark this weekend. Nolan is getting close to 5lb. They're getting a little better with sucking. Sometimes they struggle with doing everything at once, but they're getting better. Other than that, nothing else new to report.

Sounds like good news, especially with the blood work looking good. I can imagine your better half has through so much - hope she is starting to feel better, but I can imagine it will be quite a recovery process.
Glad to hear that you are holding up, other than the fatigue.
We hit the 26-week mark yesterday - had a bit of a mild scare with last Wednesday's ultrasound, but hanging in there. Thursday will be day number 50 in the hospital for my wife. She is holding up well; she is so determined, and I am very lucky to have her.Last edited by HbgOsFan; 02-27-2012 at 09:58 PM. Reason: Can't type worth crap.
