What's the best live show you've ever seen? I know some of you are like a billion years old, so hopefully some good stuff!![]()
This thread has dangerous, carnival-tent potential.
That band that featured Steve Kline and Mike DeJean. Can't remember the name.
I use to like watching gladiator fights on my lunch break. That was pretty cool.
Could never pick just one I've been to so many shows and worked so many shows, but the first that comes to mind is Col. Claypool's Fearless Flying Frog Brigade at tiny Club West in Eureka, CA in 2000 or 2001. The 2nd set was Pink Floyd's Animals in it's entirety.
This explains why this thread never showed up in the Music forum and I had to repost it!
I'll say...that one Teixeira thread.![]()
Live show is a pretty broad category, e.g. when I was in Bangkok I saw a fantastick Tai boxing match, repleat with music, dance, and lots of blood. Also in Bangkok, Pet Pong to those who know, interesting stuff involving ping pong balls, cigarettes, and beer bottles. But as I am a theatre person, I would have to say the best was Bergman's Hamlet at BAM, followed closely by Peter Brook's Mahabharata, Serban's Cherry Orchard, Kantor's Dead Class, Maggie Smith's As You Like It, and Ian Mcclelland's Acting Shakespeare. But I must add Phillip Petite's street show. And Mississippi John Hurt in concert, along with the Gospel at Collonus must also be mentioned.
Red Hot Chili Peppers @ Slane Castle
Hagler- Hearns. It doesnt get any better for a live sporting event than this. It didnt last long..but no one who was there was dissapointed.

Grateful Dead, Bob Dylan, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, July 3rd or 5th 1986, RFK Stadium. Wild wild day!![]()
In no particular order...
Frank Zappa and the Mothers of Invention
Yellowjackets
Pat Metheny Group
Tower of Power
Doobie Brothers
Stevie Wonder
Keith Jarrett
...Go O's!!!
Back in the 80s I saw two orchestra's combine into one massive orchestra to play Rimsky-korsakov's "Capriccio Espanol." There were so many musicians that they spilled out into the theater, literally surrounding the audience with sound.
