    Gee, weams, such a spoiler!

    Last night at the theater (for plays, not films), I listened to a man having to explain to another man what he meant when he referenced the most famous line from the film. I was disappointed that the explanation was required. The second man had never heard of Soylent Green.

    Wasn't there a line in there where someone says "Hey! This tastes like chicken"

    That was a movie that got the future totally wrong. Now the earth has more people obese than starving. No doubt we can stuff another ten or fifteen billion and on.

    To this day, Soylent Green has one of the most extraordinary opening sequences I've ever seen. It was all done on film...20 years or so before it was merely extremely difficult to do it digitally.
