    Big week for Terps.

Wednesday night the Terps play the Canes in Miami, where the Terps have yet to win since the Canes have joined the ACC. This game is huge for the Terps in which it gives the team momentum for an even bigger game at Comcast on saturday versus the Heels. Miami has two big men who could give the Terps problems. Johnson, and Kadji are both 6'9-6'11 with Johnson being close to 300lbs. Johnson however has a tough time staying on the court with it being through foul trouble or him being tired running up and down the floor. Kadji on the other hand is a 3 in a 4/5 body. He can shoot the 15 footer as well as the 3. Miami has guards similar to the Terps in Scott, and Grant who jack up a lot of shots and are careless with the ball.

This must be the game where Len comes out of his funk and gets his confidence up. Whether it be playing stellar defense on Kadji or going for a double double on the offensive end, the Terps need Len/Pankey/Padgett to take the scoring load off of Stoglin. If Stoglin puts up 20+ shots this game, I don't think the Terps come out of Coral Gables with a victory.

For Saturday's game versus the Heels the Terps must be firing on all cylinders. I don't think I need to go into detail on the talent that the Heels possess. I think we see a defensive strategy close to what the Terps had versus Duke. Let the bigs make the shots while defending the perimeter against the likes of Barnes/Marshall/Bullock. This is Mosley's last chance to get a premier win at home for the Terp crowd on Saturday and he'll have the team fired up as well. Although Henson and Zeller have a height advantage over Padgett and Pankey, the bigs for the Terps could hang with them in the post. Zeller and Henson are lanky and could be muscled around in the paint. This is where I could see Padgett/Pankey having an impact on the game.

Side note for the game on Saturday: Top 20 football prospect Stefon Diggs and the number one tight end for the 2013 class Adam Brenneman will be at the game so whoever is reading and going to the game make signs and hope that they come to UMD

Yeah, taking either of these games would be very big. Obviously the Miami game is more winnable, but the Terps have had some decent luck against high-ranked Carolina teams in the recent past. Don't see that happening this year, but you never know.

That game 2 years ago where Greivis went nuts and we ended up erasing like a 9 point in lead in 2 minutes or something was a great game.

Miami is plenty winnable. We should be able to score on them and our defense has gotten much better as the season carries on. I give us a 50/50 shot.

UNC will be tough. I agree with you that Turgeon should adopt the same strategy. With an outmanned squad, slowing down the game is a good way to go, as the Duke game showed. They are actually a pretty similar squad to Duke this year.

Miami is a must win. UNC won't happen, but it would be a huge win.
