I hate the 2-week gap before the Super Bowl

Gah! Just play the game already! If I have to hear one more word about Gronkowski's high ankle sprain or whether Eli Manning is now an "elite" QB, I'm going to puke!

I agree, play the game then everyone can worry about more important things, like spring training.

Meanwhile, Peyton Manning has seemingly become the next Brett Favre.

I agree, it sucks a big one. It's all part of the hype machine that is gearing up for the "biggest event" of the year though, so it's not going to change.

When/why did this start? I totally agree.

Though the Ravens collapse has me more disconnected than usual from Football leading into the Super Bowl. I almost don't even want to watch the game for the first time in a very long time.

It has almost always been this way. It was cut to a week for a few years in 2000-03. I feel like there may have been one other time that it was one week, maybe in one of the strike-shortened seasons.

This year it makes no difference really. I am planning to ignore the game - have no interest whatsoever in this matchup.

Really the only bad thing is not listening to sports talk radio becasue Im sick of hearing about ELI and all things Giants and Pats. Its like a 2 week vacation from sports talk - and its really not all that bad.

As a Redskins' fan, I find the multi-decade gap between Super Bowls endlessly more irritating.

Not sure what radio stations you listen to, but all I hear up here in NY is Patriots, its all about Brady, BB, and Gronk, Gronk, Gronk. I have heard little to no Giants coverage and I live in NY.

I'm gonna spend a few good hours cleaning the house tomorrow and then have the game on while I drink.

These 2 weeks should have one big celebration here in MD but instead I still like Cameron in Ferris Bueller, unable to get out of bed. "Let my Cameron go."

    Mostly ESPN radio from Dallas.
