Given a defense that wasn't built in his shadow, Peyton wins that second Super Bowl, at least, and we're not even having this discussion. Don't let the shiny rings fool you, Eli is not better than Peyton, and barring some amazing things the rest of his career, he won't be.

Eli is hands down the better playoff QB.

Not really. QB Rating's are close and Manning has thrown for a lot more yards per game and his team has scored 3 more points per game.

Eli obviously has one more SB, but he wasn't that good in the regular season in 2007, nor was he particularly good in the NFC title game or the Super Bowl that year. The defense was the main reason they won those games and was the main reason why they won last night along with Welker dropping a ball and Manningham making a great catch.

Peyton had 9TD's and 1int vs Denver in the wild-card round in 2003 and 2004, take those numbers out and then let's talk. The playoffs are all about wins and losses (fair or not), the Colts have been dominant in the regular season and have lost alot of home games in the postseason.

I know it is easy to cherry pick numbers but he had 3TD's and 7 int's when the Colts won it all in 2006. He played terrible vs NE in 2003-2004.

Peyton hasn't been a brutal postseason QB by any measure, but his performance hasn't been nearly as consistent. The Colts will always regret for all those regular season wins they only got 1 championship with him.

Well you can't take his away numbers or just focus on a few bad games either. I'm fine with saying that he's been a bit disappointing in the post-season, but that's only because he's been one of the best QB's ever in the regular season. So high standards there.

And I think judging a QB just off wins and losses is absurd. Eli for example now has two Super Bowl titles and two Super Bowl MVP's, yet he didn't play that well in the first game and his offense has only scored 36 points combined in those two games where it was expected that they'd need to score 50+ points to win the games. The defense has been the main reason why they've won. Oh, and an absurd catch by Tyree and a dropped INT by Samuel before that. Or Welker dropping that ball yesterday. It's a team game and there are so many things out of the QB's control that lead to wins and losses and who ends up with the rings.
