Delicious Irony - From Evans to Welker

The team that made it to the Super Bowl in large part because of a dropped pass by Lee Evans drop proceeds to lose it in large part because of a dropped pass by Wes Welker.

From nut puncher to nut punchee. Oh, the irony.

Only Brady and the Pats can make me happy a New York team won the Super Bowl.

    Agreed.

The look on Brady's face when they lost was priceless.

I wish Bradshaw would have kneeled it and they ran the clock down to :11 seconds and then had Tynes kick the FG for the win.

On Mike & Mike, Bradshaw said nobody even mentioned taking a knee before the play. He didn't hear anything about it until Manning was handing the ball to him and yelled "don't score, don't score".

Anyway, as a Pats fan Welker's drop is just one of those things. He makes that play 99/100 times, and I'd still trust him to do it the next time around. There were many things contributing to the Patriots loss that I'm not going to hinge the blame on that one play.

Disagree slightly. Can you imagine that scenario and the kick is blocked, bad hold, etc.? Take the points, IMO.

Evans had the much easier catch to make, and it was right there in his hands. The Welker ball was certainly catchable, but by no means an easy catch. In any event, the Patriots had plenty of other chances to win that game.

You don't give him nearly the credit Chris Collingsworth did at the time.

He makes that catch 100 out of 100 times.
And some fans wonder why others are so bothered by the commentary.

I did think the commentary after the first imcomplete pass to Manningham was good, about how he got to the sideline too quickly and could have left himself space to catch the ball if he stayed closer to the hash.
