In 46 Super Bowls, teams with an animal nickname have won NINE times. Ten of the 26 teams at the time of the merger had animal nicknames, now it is fifteen of 32.

That doesn't mean anything. But really, isn't it WEIRD?

Doesn't this have to do with the fact that only 18 teams have actually won the Super Bowl. And 24 Super Bowl wins are owned by just 5 teams. The NFL had a parity problem. I do think it's getting better three teams won their one and only SB in the 2000's, though the Ravens were the only animal named team to do so....hmmmmmmmm.
