"Fitting this will be my last post on the Hangout being it a thread of the "Future of the Hangout."
Frankly Iit doesn't matter to me that the Orioles are ceasing funding to a website.
Anything they do for the fans always falls short of the one thing that they need to do - win.
Everything else is just window dressing. The fans have been forgotten about for far too long, and no amount of outreach in whatever community they seek it in and whatever avenue they seek it in will make up for the losing.
Despite all the screw-ups and poor PR, it's the 14 straight years of losing that has been the worst offense of this organization.
The Orioles should count their blessings there's still any fans that care after exposing them to that.
When this team wants to invest in the product on the field and back up the countless words that they've failed to live up to time and time again, then the fans will come back and believe in their Orioles once again like they did in the glory years.
As for my tenure, it's been quite a ride, but I still support the "Orioles" and if there's no "Orioles" there's no JTrea...
I wish everybody well and some day hopefully in the near future we will all see our beloved Orioles win the World Series.
We all deserve it, that's for sure... "
It's been quite a ride.
Jtrea,
If you're still lurking, thanks for all your input on this board. You took a beating by many on this board, but didn't lash out at posters who mocked you. I think you showed a lot of patience and positivity in your posts.
You will surely be missed here...especially in the long winter months! Thanks, and please come back when you are ready.
I'm very much amazed at how respectful JTRea is/was. No matter how much people lashed out on him, he handled it with dignity.
To JTRea, best damn salesman in the whole office!
This is an odd thread.
He was passionate and unusually thick-skinned.
Thats all I got.
He never threw punches, but wasn't willing to learn and evolve from his illogical stances. It's ridiculous that a member who was constantly at the center of raging debates left and right, and who was never willing to look at things differently regardless of the massive amount of research and logic thrown his way, will always be more remembered than hundreds of other posters here who for the most part, lay low, have good conversation, but because they "get it" don't ever cause fireworks enough to get the constant attention, and not to mention pretty damn close to two birds worth of rep that Trea got.
If his consistency in not ever lashing out at those who jumped all over him is enough to make you sad that he is leaving, then I don't know what to tell you. But I won't be losing any sleep over it.
Peace and Hair grease.
Didn't we do this last month? I'm getting deja vu.
What does Greg think about this loss?
Oh my, the guy could aggravate me with his insistence to stand pat in the face of defeat. But lets be sure of one thing.....Trea's overriding philosophy was more correct than incorrect. And he is without a doubt, a true Oriole fan to the core. That is enough for me to say that I will miss him. If you are still lurking out there Trea, please don't stay gone too long. As one of the posters on here who does not adhere to the company line, I will need you to help beat down the "homers".
I would much rather have Trea post than a lot of others.
