Cod: Mw3

So I picked this up for xbox a while ago, but didn't really start playing regularly until Friday afternoon last week. Now I'm fairly addicted to the game, but I stink. I didn't play the previous version at all, and I typically get worked when playing online. I've only had one round over .500. I'm usually like 3-6 kills and 12+ deaths.

I'm almost a level 32 and I use the M4A1 assault rifle with silencer and acog scope as my primary and the p99 or whatever it is as my sidearm. Sometimes I use the SCAR, but I'm only like a level 7 with that while I'm at about 21 with the M4A1. It's hard to switch off from old reliable.

Anyway, I'm looking for some advice if anyone wants to share their trade secrets. Should I use a different class? What's your strategy during online play? I feel like I only win those 1 on 1 showdowns like 10% of the time, even though I know I hit the other guy first fairly often. I feel like I get killed with a single shot fairly often, but I don't think I'm accurate enough to use a shotgun as my primary.

Honestly it might not be a bad idea to pick up MW2 and play MP on there for a while. Most of the hardcore guys have moved on to MW3 and the competition is a little easier on MW2, I actually played a few MW2 mp matches recently with my cousin after not playing the game for over a year and did pretty well despite the layoff. Might be a good way to practice and improve before stepping back up to MW3.
