So, who's excited about this game?
I just completed my third play through of Mass Effect 2. (Almost, still have the suicide mission left). This time I played as a female Shepard.
Can't wait until it comes out. It's the first time I've ever purchased a special edition. I half considered taking a day off when it arrived just to get started, but I decided I don't want to be that much of a fanatic.
Cannot wait for this game!
This game is going to be awesome! I haven't played the new demo yet b/c it will just make me want to play the full game.
I really want to play ME2 one more time to get things just right, but to be honest I would need to start with ME1 again to get everything to where I want it, but I don't have enough time for that at the moment. Regardless this game is going be great and I can't wait to see how the story finishes up.
Here are my feelings on the game

I started with ME2 and played through twice. I bought ME1 a few months ago and couldn't get past the opening. The improvements between the two made it difficult for me to go back.
My third play through that I'm finishing now, I used the comic to complete ME1 as a female Shepard. I made the decisions the default ME2 does not - keep Wrex alive, save the Rachni, save Kaeden, etc. I also chose not to indoctrinate the Geth. The only choice left is whether I give technology to the Illusive Man this time.
I half played the demo and stopped. It showed me enough to excite me for the story and that's enough.
What class does everyone play? I go for infiltrator.
Mass Effect 2 is my favorite game of all-time. Sheppard is the biggest badass of any video game character IMO. I played the demo for Mass Effect 3 and it was epic. I pre-ordered the Collector's Edition from Amazon for release date shipping (only $1 for shipping!), I am beyond pumped. (BTW March 6 is going to be awesome, same day GoT season 1 Blu Ray is being released. Which I have shipping to me release date as well).
The improvement in gameplay from Mass Effect to Mass Effect 2 was substantial. While the story in Mass Effect is awesome, I cannot go back and play it due to the gameplay after playing Mass Effect 2. Bioware really stepped up their game in the sequel and I am sure Mass Effect 3 will have a similar type of improvement.
In Mass Effect 2 I played my first time through as a Vanguard. I loved the Charge ability. Using Cryo Ammo and then Charging to shatter somoene in midair was so much fun. Pull and Charge is a good combination too. Vanguards can also use a shotgun. My second time through I played as a Sentinel. The Tech Armor is a HUGE asset for the harder difficulties. Sentinel was also cool because of the Push ability. In a lot of environments you could simply push enemies off ledges and such. Warp/Overload work very well in lowering shield/armors. Sentinel later lowers charge times for adapt powers, allowing you to do multiple combinations.
Both classes are great. Vanguard is definitely more powerful and flashy, but Sentinel is more tactical. Both classes give you a great combination of what the game has to offer in terms of gameplay. Choosing an Adapt, Soldier, or Engineer is too specialized for me. I am definitley choosing between these two classes again in Mass Effect 3. I guess that also depends on if the game will give you the opportunity to change your class for an imported character as it did in Mass Effect 2.
It's go time!
Yes! Mine came in at lunch today! I'm going to play when I get home from work! IGN gave the game a 9.5 and GameSpot a 9.0. I cannot wait!
Sounds like you're too close to their facility. I have a UPS facility near me as well and when I get something delivered from UPS it usually comes at the end of the day. I think they save the packages that are closest to their store for last, start out far away and work their way back to the store.
Picking this up at Best Buy on the way home from work, but I won't have a whole lot of time to play today though. A friend of mine said he want's to take a week off of work just to play this game, I'm jealous!
Yeah that's pretty much how it goes. My best friend is a supervisor there, I keep trying to talk him into going in early and plucking my stuff off the line, but then I feel bad cause he already works 10 hour days.
Mine got here about 30 min ago, but wouldn't you know it, the baby is sick and I don't have a chance to play until later tonight.
I usually have things shipped to where I work because UPS/FedEx/etc. deliver their business routes before residential, and I only live 10 minutes from work so it's no hassle to stop by if I'm off and pick it up. Of course, not every company is going to allow this, but I'll take advantage if it is. Typically, UPS will deliver to my work by 11AM, whereas deliveries to my house run the gamut from 12PM to 6PM.
