    Question about MASN

    Comcast Sportsnet, CSN Mid-Atlantic.

Is this the same as MASN? If I go to DISH Network, will I get the Orioles?

A worthy question for my 4,000th post.

Not the same as MASN. This is the former home of the Orioles

Even if you did get MASN, MLB rules would black out the games for you in California.

You have an HDMI port on your computer? The MLBTV Premium seems the way to go.

Comcast SportsNet Mid-Atlantic is (as Tony mentioned) the former TV home of the Orioles. Essentially the successor to HTS, it is primarily the broadcaster of the Wizards and Capitals, and also does much Redskins and Ravens programming.

So, if you are into all of that, knock yourself out--which you might want to do anyway if you actually choose to watch the Un-Bullets.

    Computers are ghastly beasts.

I can write programs in Visual Basic and C++, I know Dreamweaver and have designed simple web sites, I can trace packets through WireShark, and yet I have no idea what a HDMI port is.

I'm assuming that you don't have an HD TV then.

I do. And my computer is a Pavillion with quad Phenoms and a 64 bit system. I've just never tried to connect the two together. I've just never been into the entertainment aspects. If someone put a gun to my head right now and said "Download an MP-3 recording or else" I'd be a goner.

I'm going to let someone with more experience with PC's give you the details, but suffice it to say that you can hook your computer up to your TV fairly easily and watch the games using MLB.tv. You would just need somebody to explain how to do it.

Do you have any of those devices? If so, you can watch mlb.tv through those. Apple TV, for example, is only 99 bucks and super easy to hook up.

It is all plug and play. You go to a website. Play the video, switch your TV input to aux/HDMI and the Orioles are live on your TV for $125 per year.

If you don't want to use your computer, hook up a Roku to the TV's HDMI input
