There's been a few threads started on MLB.tv. I personally like the product and one of the reason has always been the ability to watch about twice as many Spring Training games than with MASN alone (since you can watch opposing teams feeds when the Orioles travel to play them during ST). I love listening to the radio but during the spring I think it's nice to be able to actually see how some of the lesser known players look. Below is the broadcast schedule for MLB.tv for the Os this year. Sometimes they'll even add a game or two during ST.
Code:Mon, Mar 5 7:05 PM Pittsburgh Pirates vs Baltimore Orioles (ss) Sat, Mar 10 1:05 PM Baltimore Orioles vs Philadelphia Phillies Sun, Mar 11 1:05 PM Boston Red Sox vs Baltimore Orioles Sun, Mar 18 1:05 PM Baltimore Orioles (ss) vs Atlanta Braves Fri, Mar 23 1:05 PM Boston Red Sox vs Baltimore Orioles Sat, Mar 24 1:05 PM Washington Nationals vs Baltimore Orioles Sun, Mar 25 1:05 PM Baltimore Orioles vs Philadelphia Phillies (ss) Thu, Mar 29 7:05 PM Baltimore Orioles vs New York Yankees Sun, Apr 1 1:05 PM Tampa Bay Rays vs Baltimore Orioles
That's what the list outline. Only 6 of those games are carried on MASN, the rest are available on MLB.tv (I believe Extra Inning's also offers them). In the past it's been my experience that a few other games featuring the Orioles are added to the broadcast schedule of other carriers during Spring Training.
Question about MLBTV. Can you use it on more than one console? For example: My ps3 and my laptop. Or. If a friend had it and I wanted to log on that day to watch at my house.. Could I use his login to access it? (wrong, but possible). And Do they ever offer discounts?
On the last day of the season, I had it going on my laptop, Apple TV and my iPhone. That leads me to believe that they will at least let you on multiple devices under the same IP address. You can try to use your friends, but I'm unsure if it will work.
As for the discounts, I only know of one, and that's with a renewal. They keep the price the same from year to year even if they raise it. For example, those that had premium last year can renewal again for last years price (119.99). This year for new subscribers its 124.99
I don't what I was thinking in past years choosing the MLB Package on Comcast over this.
I'm definitely using MLB.TV this season. You don't get any spring training games with the Comcast package and I swear more than half of the time I'm stuck with the other team's broadcasters which means I have to keep a vomit bag beside me everytime we play the White Sox.
Definitely rolling with this.
Similar to McNulty I was able to access it via my iPad, iPhone, laptop, and TV at the same time. When I visited my parents I was able to access it through their TV. I absolutely love this product, along with the AtBat app. I really love the game archives and the ability to jump to innings. I used to get the Extra Innings package from DIRECTV but I can't see myself going back.
Well my local team is the Marlins down here. I'm not even sure they had announcers since nobody watches their games. They may have just had parrots.
But I'd take those parrots over hearing about THE GOOD GUYS and those utterances of HE GONE!
I think I only loathe those guys so much because i'm not a White Sox fan. Their fans probably love that announcing team. My Cubs fans friends hate them though.
Of all the seasons to do it, I caved and bought MLBtv this year. I have already had a lot of fun with it watching our first few games of the 2011 season and of course our beat down of the Sox. I love that I have so many options to watch it whether my Mac, Xbox, or Iphone. Now let's start Spring Training!
