He didn't want to throw MacPhail under the bus. Good for him.

The Oriole organization has beaten him down. He has to be counting the days until he gets paroled!

Part of the reason for his demeanor appears to be that the sun is directly in his peripheral, sort of annoying him the entire time.

Otherwise, I think the question did require him to throw others under the bus, and maybe sell his own players short, and Buck is just not the guy who will do that. I think he believes in his players, and even if it didn't work out, he sees some of AM's contributions as important to what he's trying to accomplish here.

I wouldn't say he has the "Hargrove Glaze" just yet.

Buck understands that the blame game is not what true leaders do. Blame is for losers. The only thing that can ever be done is to look forward and go from where you are now. All of this 14 year stuff is for those that enjoy the blame game. Nothing is ever gained by dwelling on what went wrong yesterday. Buck Showalter is a leader of men because he believes in them and he knows how to get them to believe in themselves. The 14 losing seasons are not the fault of the current GM or Manager but it is there responsibility to turn things around and that is what they are focused on.

Looks like Buck needs to break out the SPF 50.

It looks like Buck needs to take the team on an inspirational road trip up to Mons Venus in Tampa.

He just looks annoyed. It's a loaded question that is designed to have his answer twisted after the fact. I'd be annoyed too if everyone on the planet is already writing this team off before the season even begins (whether that's rightfully so or not remains to be seen). I can completely see why he has "dead eyes" through the entire video.
