Buck Showalter is a leader of men because he believes in them and he knows how to get them to believe in themselves. The 14 losing seasons are not the fault of the current GM or Manager but it is there responsibility to turn things around and that is what they are focused on.
There is a certain VERY high ranking leader of the free world who could use this advice. But I agree. No good comes by playing the blame game...

...unless of course we are talking about Lee Evans!

He seems almost burned out or something. Jeez. I have no idea how to interpret this, other than Buck needs a Starbucks enema.

The question was long-winded and poorly phrased. It took up half of the damn segment.

He should have asked, "Buck, is your approach changing at all this year with the changes to the front office?"

Yeah, that hat is sweet. Oriole Bird is still the best thing about this organization, he deserves to be on the hat.

Buck looked miffed at the question, and annoyed at having to try answering it. Don't know the reporter, Karl Merton Ferron, but I'd bet his name is now posted somewhere in Buck's outhouse.

Im sure the going is pretty slow for Buck. 2 years ago he thought he was inheriting an up and coming team. He also supposedly had Angelos ear. What happened to that? Now it seems like the Orioles dont believe in the young talent enough to give Buck a couple talented players through Free Agency.

I think the interviewer was Peter Schmuck as Buck began his response with "Well you know, Peter." I think Karl Ferron was the cameraman.

That would explain why he looked miffed. Or bored. Or tired. Or nauseous.

Or, take them to the Joshua Tree and have them take paodi or acid and make them sleep out in the desert a night...what could it possibly hurt?

I wouldn't be thrilled either if my team's biggest pitching addition ( which was known to be our largest weakness) has never logged an inning in the majors, and our lineup (which lost a few pieces) seems to be destined for DL stints and mediocrity.

It's not like Buck was gonna say "Yeah, I'm thrilled we didn't even show a pulse in the free-agent market, and never bid on the REAL talent within the International market".

I know you saw the interview from the prism of your own perspective, but he was asked about what had gone wrong in the past, and the need for a system wide overhaul, not about Duquette's offseason.
