Charles Mitchell commits to MD

Pretty nice signing for the 2012 class. Top 100 PF.
Assuming Len stays, Len, Cleare, and Mitchell could turn our frontcourt from a major weakness to a major strength by the 13-14 season.

This is pretty significant to me. Our frontcourt is looking really solid next year. Now if we could just sign a point guard! Harrison twins come on down please.
Why would Len not be there next year? Maybe you mean the 13-14 season. Still think he'll be there. Only player I've even remotely heard of leaving for the NBA would be Stoglin, and I think he knows he needs to develop some more, particularly his passing game cuz everyone knows he'd be a PG in the NBA.
If Howard comes back 100%, Faust/Parker/Len/etc. keep developing, and Cleare/Layman/Allen/Mitchell are all legit, I can see us making some noise next year.

Only reason Len wouldn't be there is if he wants to go back to Europe, a la Palsson.
Next year's team success will depend a lot on the freshmen and how good they are. We've seen relatively unheralded guys here come in and be fantastic (Joe Smith, Jordan Williams) and we've seen highly touted guys struggle (Mike Jones). Really just have to wait and see.

Great job by turg to get a top 15-20 class his first year. If len and stoglin stay we will be a top 25 team all next year easily. Md basketball is on the up and up.

I'm hopeful they can be a Top 25 team "easily", but I think you're a year ahead of me if that's your expectations. I'd be pretty damn happy next year if they're on the fringe, maybe making a Top 25 appearance here and there, and they get into the tournament.Maryland coach Mark Turgeon landed his fifth prospect in the 2012 class and as a result the Terrapins are slowly moving up the rankings. Three-star C Charles Mitchell (Marietta, Ga./Wheeler) is the third big man on his way to Maryland in this class and should be a solid backup to ESPNU 100 C Shaquille Cleare (Houston/Village School).
The Terps' rise in the rankings to No. 19 from No. 22, jumped over Wake Forest, Iowa and Colorado on their ascent.

Nice late get. With the additions of Mitchell and Dodd it pretty much tells you we'll have some guys departing. As has been mentioned here all of Stoglin, Len, and Pankey have been rumored to leave. It's just seeing which of them actually do go. Technically, right now, I don't believe we have room for both Harrison brothers for 2013.
