Looks like the 'Skins did sign Morgan too.

Also looks like they resigned Carriker as well.

Won't have to worry about him getting old, then.

Hopefully he'll have a good campaign heading into his fifth (and age 26) season. Last year he finally got into all 16 games and ended up a little short of 1,000 yards. He should be a legit target if utilized well and with enough surrounding talent. A prime year should not go to waste.

I knew they'd go with Garcon Shanny's MO (and Allen) is to get younger players in FA. I figured he'd be the first target. Even if he's only a #2 WR, he's up ahead of anything we had before, he's a deep threat, and even if we stayed pat here, Garcon, Moss, AA, and Hankerson doesn't look too shabby honestly, with Austin groomed to take over for Moss.

Skins also signed Fairfax native Eddie Royal. Makes you feel old that somebody you went to high school with (my senior year - his freshman year) was an NFL free agent.

Looks like they resigned Carriker and are close to inking Morgan as well.

Holy crap they paid a lot. RG3 better turn Garcon into a star with his deep ball ability and Garcon's speed.

This was kinda my reaction too. Premium because of age. Not a ton of 25 y/o UFA out there. He's on the right trend though, but I worry about hamstring injuries he's had a little bit. Either way, we needed something, and VJax is going to get more than that even and is 4 years older.

Can't say I'm a huge fan of Morgan/Royal signings though, for $6m per that's WAY too much for 3/4 receivers, and means 2 of my favorites are going to be fighting for a roster spot (AA/Austin).

Even though we did overpay a little bit, I like that the Skins are getting younger and younger, especially at the receiver position. Quite a departure from the past.

Now, if they could sign Winston (who was cut from the Texans) that'd be a huge upgrade for the OL.

I agree regarding Morgan and Royal. I think there was enough depth and quality that they could have stuck with what they had plus Garcon or another top guy.

I think Morgan is gonna surprise a lot of people. 49er fans were really sad to see him go. They loved his blocking skills as a WR, which the Skins haven't seen in a while. They made a strong push to resign him. Thumbs up from me.
