I have an MLB credit card and I usally order my game tickets using my rewards points. I have been waiting for tickets to be released for my trip down in early April. I have be calling customer service as to when they would be released to no avail. I then called this morning and was told that the Orioles were opting out of this program this year. Why would the Orioles opt out of a program that pays them and gets more people in the seats. I was very unhappy because of this. This a big additional cost to my trip and the tickets available now are not as good as ones I could have got earliar in off season. The free tickets allowed me a low cost trip to Baltimore to see some games. I usally do this a few times a year but I dont think that will be possible this year. (My lady will not sit in cheap seats) Its just gonna be cheaper to go see the O's at Fenway.

To be fair, this is much easier for an owner of a winning team who just spent on a ton of money on fan favorite player acquisitions.
I wouldn't put anyone at the top of the Orioles organization in such a destined to fail position. This is something you do when things are going well.
Do I think Angelos will do this if the Orioles become such a team? No I don't...maybe Duquette or Showalter would get the assignment, though.

This clip from Doogie Howser pops into my head whenever I see this thread:
Anyone else? No? Just me?

03-28-2012 12:26 PM #206Angelos has a ton of MASN revenue now...Why does he choose to not use it when he is clearly saying here that he could have afforded a $90ishM contract back when Moose left if he had that revenue(and of course, a 90M dollar contract back would be higher now)? The only reason the Yankees can do it is because they have the potential to get $100 million in cable revenues while the Orioles settle for about $25 million," said Angelos. "Give me the $100 million that they've got, and Mike Mussina would still be in Baltimore."

Dear Orioles,
Opening Day is on Good Friday this year. Will you have extra food stands open for the Crabcakes for those who can't eat meat on Fridays?

This thread has turned into a complete debacle. We have the opportunity to challenge the organization with the difficult questions we want answers too, we should take advantage of it for as long as we can. Personally, I enjoy the opportunity regardless of how predictable the response. It's nice to hear it straight from the horses mouth.
They said they were going to answer questions every week. If they didn't answer your "questions that matter" the first time, ask it again. We can only talk about beer prices for so long before we're only left with questions of real substance. I'm pretty sure we've all used our time less valuably talking about the value of Taylor Teagarden.
Personally, as has been mentioned by others at least 3 times in this thread, I'd love to know how the MASN money is helping the team as promised. What's stopping us from asking until we get an answer?
