Thread: Ask The Orioles

Have the Orioles ever considered giving out free tickets to schools and/or youth organizations? It goes without saying that thousands of seats sit without a butt in them every night at OPACY. While I know groups do get some seats (and a white tshirt of the supporting player), I encourage you to study if it would benefit the organization to create more of these free packages for youth organizations. While the children would probably have money to spend, I bet their parents would on food and/or merchandise if they didn't pay for a ticket.
I think a filled stadium with fans spending their money on concessions/merch (despite not paying for a ticket) is a whole lot better than an empty upper deck where no money is being spent.

For many years I have been hearing about your upcoming "Free Airfare for Fans from California Night" promotion. Can we anticipate this being instituted this year?

I particularly applaud this idea.
I always have exceptional seats and get the VIP service that a season ticket holder deserves without having to spend more money than I would. It's a Win/Win in that the Senators can count on my financial participation even though I root against them.

Ok. Here is a question
A fellow owner has said "To win, you have to have stars. And, for public appeal, you have to have stars."
The Orioles have no stars, they have a potential young star who will be gone at the end of his team control in Matt Wieters.
They have three above average players in Adam Jones, JJ Hardy and (when healthy) Nick Markakis.
Because of poor planning or bad drafting, we have only four players in our minor league who have a ceiling of star (Bundy, Machado, Schoop, and Bridwell).
How do the Orioles and ownership of the Orioles plan on addressing what seems to be the prevailing sentiment among financially healthy ownership groups.

Well, since all the important topics have been brought up...
Do you instruct the ushers behind home plate to be ornery? And what's wrong with moving down to snag seats that are closer past the 5th inning when you're only drawing 10k to the Stadium?
