Solid outing. I think this is about what we can expect from Hunter. He'll get you innings and give up around 3 runs. Hard to argue with that.

Per Roch, 74 pitches, 44 for strikes. Not an overwhelming performance overall, but in the season, he'd be in line to go 7 IP if he was at 74 pitches after 5 IP. So, very satisfactory considering it's his first outing against a (semi-) major league lineup.

So, but seriously. We aren't hitting at all this spring. Trying to not worry about it, but I can't deny that it's bugging me.

Andino grounds out, but Endy Chavez gets on base again with a bunt single. The man cannot be stopped!

Hardy singles for the second time. Chavez over to second.
Tolleson pinch-runs for Hardy. Two on, one out.

Betemit kills the rally with an inning-ending double play. He's been awful this spring.
End of 5. Game tied, 2-2.

True, true. But Betemit's the only newcomer in that group. He's making a bad first impression! But obviously, nothing really matters until the season starts.
Defensive changes for the Birds in the 6th. Tolleson takes over at short. Beerer replaces Chavez in right. Ryan Flaherty, the Man of Every Position, is now at first base in place of Betemit.
Luis Ayala now pitching, and he pitches a 1-2-3 inning. That didn't take long.

Ayala has been fairly decent so far this spring. Not sure how things shake out, but I'm not sorry that DD has brought in lots of decent, not great, but decent, options for both the rotation and bullpen.
