Even if they're not sold on Sanchez, which nobody should be, is Tebow really an upgrade? Seems like a move for publicity and hoping he'll switch positions, which I can't see him being inclined to do so.

They think he is going to help the lockerroom...Not sure you want your back up QB being your leader and guy that puts together your lockerroom.

Anyone hear that? Sounded like it came from somewhere in central Connecticut.

Interesting, Tebow goes to another team full of bad wide receivers.

Publicity move, particularly after they gave Sanchez a three-year contract extension earlier this month. ESPN is having to change their pants in anticipation of all the storylines in their own backyard. They'll manufacture a soap opera out of this; it's what they do.

I'm not really sure I see the logic in giving Sanchez money and then trading for a... "quarterback"

Genius! That makes perfectly zero sense. Neither does Tebow playing QB in the NFL, but what do I know?

From a basic football standpoint there is some sense to the trade. Tebow is still very young, and has tools that could develop in the right program. The Jets' backup is Mark Brunell, and is there anyone better for a left-handed, mobile quarterback to learn from short of Steve Young? He's also Sanchez insurance, since the "new contract" isn't a real impediment to replacing him if it comes to that.

Between all of the baggage that comes with the Jets, and all of the baggage that comes with Tebow, however, you can't just make this into just a football move. So I don't think it is a good one.

OMG...... a 4th and a 6th. That's laughable for a horrible backup QB. BTW....the drama coming out of New York next year will be so freaking awesome. Sanchez is horrible, fans and teammates will eventually start calling for Tebow who is actually worse but they are both media goldenboys. Rex in the middle of it all. The eventual drama will be worth all the overhyping and media crap we have to go through for the next 5 months.

Yes, this is foolish. People will now be clamoring to bench a bad quarterback for a worse one.

And people thought there was Tebow-overload last season. Now that he's in New York, ESPN might have to change their name to TSPN.
