I'm glad it has been resolved and McCourt is gone. Now the team can move forward and regain their position among the elite teams.

First, that's some serious cash. English-soccer-franchise money. Are we sure there isn't a shady Arabian oil sheik or Russian steel tycoon involved?
Second, how many variations of a "Do You Believe In Magic" theme will we see and hear tomorrow?
Finally, Frank McCourt finally has some real money to play with...but nowhere to play. What a shame (note: not at all a shame).

It's kind of sad that a franchise can be so badly mismanaged and yet the guy who is responsible makes a huge profit due to circumstances he didn't really do anything to create.
I do worry whether this is a good deal for baseball. Will the new owners be cash-strapped after paying this exhorbitant sum for the team? If so, the Dodgers will be right back in the soup.

Kinda surprised this tidbit hasn't gotten much pub on O's fanboards...
http://baltimore.cbslocal.com/2012/0...rth-2-billion/
Jim Duquette, former O's exec and host of 105.7 THE FANs Baltimore Baseball Tonight, joined The Norris & Davis Show this morning. He said having Mr. Angelos on the committee was no coincidence.
He (Peter Angelos) has been shown two or three high-worth individuals that would like to buy into the club. Not for $2 billion for the Orioles, but, if Peter decides he wants to sell, Major League Baseball just showed him the keys to a couple individuals of high net worth that have the money that would want to buy. I don't think it was a coincidence he (Peter Angelos) was on that board.Last edited by ADZ23; 03-29-2012 at 03:53 PM.
