In her defense, all she said was that they are exciting - not that they are good at baseball. Maybe they all have fascinating life stories, amazing secondary talents, or love extreme sports.

Frobby I dont think its quite as bad as you make out. Guys like Avery and Hoes are at the higher levels and still could prove to be pretty good. I am very interested to see what kind of year they have. And I wont even think about Schoop or Machado until they are in Bowie. Same with Dylan. All 3 are starting to get in the dreaded overhyped category were they'll probably never meet the expectations handed to them.

I can completely understand the sentiment, from someone watching spring training games this season.
The starters displayed sloppy, lackluster play in the field, struggling command on the mound, and for the first few weeks (as veterans will do) ineffective hitting up and down the lineup.
Then with each game, I could look forward to the 7th inning when they'd start playing the minor league guys, because it was only then that it got exciting. Some great pitching displays, great fielding by guys such as Antonelli, Machado, Flaherty early on, even Tolleson. Great catches by guys like Avery. And hitting -- putting guys on base and bringin' em around.
Every game, it was the minor league "depth" that was exciting to watch, particularly in contrast to the "A" lineups. Maybe that's what encouraged her to write what she did?
