And with Votto close to signing a huge extension the need to grow your own talent becomes ever more clear. Come on DD back up your words with results. Not that the O's had a prayer of signing either.

This is a bummer. I really wanted the O's to go hard after this guy next offseason.
Oh well, goes back to the idea of needed to develop your own Matt Cain.

Yep, says the extension was 5/112 and he's already making 15 mil. Some crazy money being thrown out there.
