    The Newsroom

The first trailer for Aaron Sorkin's new show on HBO, The Newsroom, finally came out last week. It looks like it's set to debut in June. Personally, I can't wait. I loved The West Wing and Studio 60, so I'm pretty excited.

Watched, but didn't love, Studio 60. Respect West Wing enormously, but don't, quite, love it. Absolutely love Sports Night. I'll watch, and expect disappointment. But, hey, he's set the bar high.

Debut was last night. I have to say that I really enjoyed it...more so than I thought I would. The cast seems to work really well together, and the quality of the actors is just top notch. That kind of chemistry in a pilot is rare, and it seems like a great start to build upon. I can't wait to see more.

I'm pretty sure if Martin Sheen married Stockard Channing and ran for President I'd vote for him. Loved the West Wing and Sports night. Thought Studio 60 was a great depiction of Hollywood and was probably accurate, but came off a bit preachy and I think a lot of people didn't respond, it worked more in West Wing given the political nature.

Saw the first episode too and agree with Crissfan...really good chemistry. It'll be really fascinating as Sorkin digs deeper into the larger producting/directing of news and how it all plays out, I do think he's the right guy for that job.

The West Wing is one of my all-time favorite shows. Sports Night I could not stand, and the first episode of The Newsroom was a lot more Sports Night than West Wing. There were moments, but I can't believe how ham-fisted some of the speechifying was. I'll give it more chances, but I was disappointed.
