So sad that people feel like the only answer is to take their own precious life, much less someone with such a bright future ahead of him.

I have absolutely no clue on why this was done, but the pressure he was under maybe by his parents or others around him probably didn't help. One thing I have witnessed in my life thus far is those that have the most overbearing parents are usually the first ones to "break" mentally or end up working at Smoothie King and smoking pot.
Everything in life is a balance. Decisions are easier when you know people will support you regardless.
I think parents in particular, tend to hash out their own insecurities on their kids and that is sad.
Again, I have no idea what the reason was but just general comments.
I am very sad to hear about this.

Looking for causes of suicide is a sisyphean task.

Truely sad indeed. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends.

Stotle-I know you are very opinionated so I am going to let this go, but I am pretty confident you know little about my personal life, so perhaps you are out of line. I know you and Craw are close and he is a stand up guy.
I did say that I had no idea what the cause was, twice. Calm down. This is a forum of discussion.

Your personal life has nothing to do with making statements like "pressure he was under maybe by his parents." Having profound and impactful life experiences doesn't give anyone the license to unfairly project their opinions on situations. I don't know the Gant family, but I have observed the Ohio Warhawks parents on many occasions, and feel even the suggestion that actions by Gant's parents could have pushed him over the edge is reckless and unfair to the people who are actually dealing with this difficult situation.
I'm sorry if the topic of suicide, depression, or whatever it specifically relates to is of particular import to you. You can't use a public space to hint at a narrative in situations like this -- it really is careless.
