    An Observation

It seems that DD has brought over the emphasis on OBP and perhaps a new organizational approach to patience at the plate, something the Os have not done in several years. Looking at the box score from today, there were three hitters who apparently did not get the memo. I know this is only one game and things can change, but the one hitter who bothers me in that regard is Wieters. He saw six pitches today...six. Did that bother anyone else? By the way, though Arrieta was dealing, only one Twins starter saw less than 13. Three Os starters saw less than 10: Wieters, Reynolds, and Andino. I hope Wieters shows more patience at the plate as the season progresses. The Os need him to be a solid middle of the order hitter, potentially #3, and he is not going to be that guy by only seeing six pitches in three ABs. We have talked about his slow bat, but this could be a bigger problem.

ps. The Os were also 0-7 with RISP. That is also pathetic. Wieters was 0-2.
