Anyone else hate their in-laws?
I'm a pretty easy going guy but I can't stand my wife's family. They are stupid, indecisive and always make dumb decisions.
You can't tell them anything either. They ask your opinion of something, you give it and they tell you why you are wrong.
I've started to back away from them and have become a little snarky and they are picking up on it. And I don't really care.
We are getting together this weekend and I have the urge to walk through the front door and give the whole room the double bird.
The problem is, I haven't always felt this way and I don't want it to continue. I almost love to hate them and I really want it to stop.
Or I'll just tell them all to **** off and I'll feel better.

I'm fortunate to have awesome in-laws, and for my wife to really like my family. My parents had in-law issues, and it sucks. I'd say try and do whatever you can to get along -- even if it means picturing them all as 3-year olds to be tolerated, and nothing more. Will save you lots of grief down the line.

I don't have any problems with my in-laws. The family is starting to get a little crazy with some issues, but overall I am happy with them.

This is easy for me to say, since my in-laws are great, but you have to try to get along with them. Just keep telling yourself that you're doing it for your wife. And try to see the humor in it, if that helps.
Also, feel free to come back here and report the worst stories to us. As they say, "if you can't say anything nice about someone.... then sit down right here and tell me all about them."

I'm lucky in that my opinion meshes with my wife's.

I've only had in-laws for a week and a half, but I've been dealing with my wife's family since we started dating. Luckily, her family is very cool and very fun. Her mom can be a bit hands-on and opinionated at times, but I just take it with a grain of salt. Hopefully I'll always be able to.

I am not married, but I just want to agree that it absolutely drives me nuts when someone ignores prudent advice, makes a dumb decision anyway, and then complains/asks for sympathy when it blows up in their faces. But I'm going to be a doctor so I'd better get used to it.

Just to be clear, we do actually get along. I just don't really like them and it's starting to show.
One of them came to me last year for advice and I told them that I thought they were making a bad decision. I don't care if they take my advice or not, but they told me why my advice was wrong. So the decision blows up in their face like I said it would and they are asking for advice to get out of it again. Again, my advice is wrong.
They all have relationship issues with their significant others and in my opinion, struggle with raising their kids.
My wife thinks that my personality just doesn't fit with theirs. I'm more optimistic and ambitious and they are content to struggle through life on a daily basis.

My dad has had to pick my mom's mom up off the floor after falling off of the toilet. Consider yourself lucky.
