I like that KG likes the comp, without ever having seen Bundy in person.

This is a fair argument because I know people think of Bundy as more complete now and Taillon with a great frame, etc.

Who is a good comp for Bundy? The combination of control and stuff seems rare. Someone said a right handed Matt Moore, but I still question his control a bit. (I am not saying Bundy is better than Moore here. I understand the value of a lefty and also demonstrating it can be done at the MLB level.)

That was the first thing I thought too...

Bundy and Moore are not similar. Assuming ceiling, take Pedro Martinez and put him in Roy Oswalt's body after Oswalt works out with Caminiti for two off-seasons.

Don't know if it is true that Goldstein has never seen Bundy live. I do know he has said repeatedly that Bundy was the top prospect in last year's draft.

    I could live with that.

Based on his interpretation of what he heard from the same pool of evaluators with whom Keith Law and Jim Callis spoke. I'm like 99% certain that Keith is the only of that trio that saw Bundy throw, and like 99% sure that Keith saw Bundy throw exactly once against crappy Oklahoma high schoolers (the 1% is because it might have been at the Florida tourney that Owasso played in last spring).

More hype mainly based on Dave Cameron's observations.

I must have missed Taillon striking out 12 batters in his first 6 IP without allowing a runner when he was in the Sally League. Come on, this is impressive by anyone's standards.

Taillon's developmental curve starting with his first year is probably 18-24 months longer than Bundy's. Apples to oranges, Frobster.

EDIT -- have you ever seen me say something like "3 ip of no hit ball with 6+ strikeouts or it's a disappointment" before? It's awesome, and everyone SHOULD be excited about Bundy. But this isn't a revelation.

OK. I see it was a redundant comment anyway and you already addressed it.

What? What does my post have to do with Taillon? And where are you getting that I think this isn't impressive? It's impressive as hell. Just about everything Bundy does is impressive as hell. I even said in this very thread that I'm giddy about it. It just does absolutely nothing to change my evaluation of Bundy as a prospect.

I hope this kid gets to pitch the second half of the season in Bowie. Reunite him with his brother and get a real taste of how soon this guy is gonna get to the bigs.

IF he could dominate in a second half at Bowie then maybe we see him in Baltimore in June of 2013?

Yeah, this is about how I'm taking it. I'm super glad he's dominating because it means he's doing what I hoped he'd do at this level, not because he's blowing the doors off my expectations. I mean, I guess this is a best-case scenario for Dylan Bundy at Delmarva, so in that sense it's excellent, but it's also the likely-case scenario, so it's tough to really get super stoked based on these six innings.
