    Maybe I should have been more clear about what impressed me about Jones first 7 games. It is early, but he is hitting .357 with a 1.043 OPS. Baseball Reference says that after the first week he only has 3 plate appearances with RISP.

    I don't expect a player who has never logged an .800 OPS to put up a 1.000 OPS this year. Heck, even .900 would be a major leap. But Jones IS hitting like a cleanup hitter after 7 games, and is showing signs that he might be ready to take the next step in his offensive development.
    I didn't "check the math" but last night Pancakes said that AJ (after Vladdy) had the second worst record at swinging at pitches out of the zone in 2011 (for all of MLB, I believe). Let's hope that he's starting to see the light. AJ has said in MASN videos that he and Presley work at doing what he does best and not worrying about the negatives, FWIW.

    He was fourth. He was behind Vlad, Soriano and Olivo.
