Chris Davis
I was surprised to see that he is hitting .320.
Buck likes him - that should be worth something.
I'm starting to like the guy and hope he is a big plus for us this year and in the future.

Best back to back games I've seen him have as an Oriole. I hope this is just the beginning of something good.

I like what we see from this guy. He MUST make the bridge to make us successful.

This is why you give youngish AAA mashers a shot. *crosses fingers*

He really does have a severe upper-cut swing. Will lead to many HRs and many Ks. Palmer was saying today how he wished he could try to shorten his stroke and put the ball in play more often. If he can keep up a +.300 clip, he can swing with one arm for all I care, but I don't know that he's going to stay above that line for the year.

Him turning the corner with some power makes it easier to move Reynolds IMO.

I am rooting for the guy, it would be great to have a 1B masher who is young and arb eligible for a while.

Note to Tony: Davis is slugging .577. Only 154 games left to go.

A power guy with low OBP and a mediocre glove. Even if he does pan out, which is a long shot, he's nothing much to get excited about at 1B.

Granted we are talking about a small smaple size but I like how he's cut down on the strikeouts. I believe his ratio is better than 1:5 right now where as historically it's closer to 1:3. He's never going to be a guy who walks a lot and therefore puts up a big OBP but if he can make better contact, like he's done so far this year I think he can be a .280 ish hitter, probably somewhere in the .315 OBP range but with legit .500+ slugging.

Forgive me, but if you had a clue, you would be working in baseball, not posting on this message board. The fact is, noone on this board has a clue about how Davis will pan out. I really like what I see so far and I'm excited about his prospects. I don't pretend to know his limitations and I don't pretend to know how good he will be in the long run. Before we put a damper on how good he will be, why don't we watch, appreciate and enjoy his good performance?

I'm still a doubter, but nice to see him doing well. I think he'll need to keep his BA around .290 to be much of anything.
