I will say again for a guy that does not have "good stuff" he sure does strike out a lot of guys and really has for most of his career.

I believe Steve went 5 innings tonight and had 5 runs scored on him but only 2 earned. 4 errors for Norfolk tonight. So not a great effort by him but looks like his defense killed him.

Incredibly efficient.
I'm imagining his Oriole career panning out similar to Bergesen's though.

Stevie looks like he’s on a roll. This guy just seems to make adjustments and get it done. No fanfare. No press. Under the radar. Non prospect. Maybe one day he gets his chance. Of course people will say he is pitching in a pitchers park. Well, his numbers are better on the road. He has missed bats his whole career. Seems to have harnessed his command. So come up with something else. He doesn’t throw hard enough. His other pitches are not good enough. Ok, why then does he continue to get people out?

C’mon guys, really. Let’s get behind this local kid and hope he gets a shot. Chances are he won’t make it. Most don’t. But he has earned a chance.
Yes? No?

I see a real chance for him to be the next JJ. If coming out in short outings gives him a bump on his FB then he might end up being very good. I have been asking for a while now how is he missing so many bats with marginal stuff? Everyone that responds say's his secondaries are average at best other than maybe a new splitter he has added. I just remember scouts talking about JJ the same way when he was starting even when he was putting up decent numbers.

Johnson is pitching in the second game of a doubleheader today against the AAA-Scranton Yankees.
It's his first time pitching since he was removed from a game with a groin pull after 2 scoreless innings on May 19th.
