Yeah, I think it was Palmer (or was it Thorne?) who said "I can't believe that damn play worked...!" after they came back from the commercial break.

Yeah, that's what I said when he got yanked. Very early to be overly concerned, but it is on my radar as something to watch moving forward. He also fell apart again right around that same marker against the Yankees.

Missed that as I made a quick flip to the Boston massacre.

I'm actually cackling right now. The Red Sox broke my brain.
Cackling? Looks like your aim was true.

Great to see the SOSHers in agony. Thanks, OrangeJerseys.

Yes. But ....... I'm just wondering if we can have one guy out of the 5-man rotation that we can have like that ...... presuming of course, that he gives up 0 or 1 run in those 5 innings. Kind of like a 5 and-a-half man rotation ??? Quality over quantity ???

OFFNY just thinking out loud. I know I'm probably wrong.

That sets him up to fill a role similar to Alfredo Simon, though. If you recall, he did a serviceable job pitching 5-plus innings in spot starts and emergency starts last year.

I think Wei-Yin Chen would do an outstanding job in that role, not just a serviceable job. But if we can't get length out of him, he might not be regular-rotation. Still worth keeping on the 25-man though, for sure.

Yeah, well it's still way to early to jump to any conclusions. But I agree in that he'll have value on this team regardless of what role he settles into.

I think he was trying to be tactful, though there was really no need.

No, he can be a solid 5th starter as a five inning guy, but the bullpen would need a Berken-Eveland type in the bullpen though.

To be fair Tony, didn't we expect endurance issues (especially early in the season) from a pitcher from Japanese leagues?

Sounds like Koji as a starter.
