Yeah, that's what I had in mind with the 5 and-a-half man rotation.

    Ah...ok. That sounds right.

Yeah, if he can get back to his 2009-10 form, he would just be a huge asset. Especially for a guy we picked up off the waiver wire.

Yeah, what was strange about that third-to-first "fake out" play is not that it works about once every hundred years or so ....... but that it was the second time in the same inning that the pitcher tried it, and it worked anyway.

I mean, really. That's worse than a team running back-to-back flea flickers in football and the defense getting burned on the second attempt.

If you get the chance, check out Josh Hamilton's HR tonight, 12-15 rows behind the Red Sox bullpen.

In Chen's last outing, he was undone by the poor defense, too. It's very early to tell one way or another. But it's very true that not every pitcher can throw 100 pitches and 7 innings. They are relievers.

The O's had better score a couple this inning.

I haven't really switched over to that game at all, but with the lop sided score, have any of the fans at Fenway started booing Bobby V or anything?

I think you may be right. Either way, I remember being surprised Texas let him go. I talked to him opening day and he was kind of surprised as well, but he felt like it was a financial decision on their part. He said he felt better this spring then he ever has.

Letting go of Strop and O'Day are two poor BP moves for them, especially with Neft going to the rotation this year. Ogando and Nathan should be solid, but that could have been a GREAT bull pen with these two guys in addition to what they have.

I'm getting greedy by wondering if Nolan and Matt might be candidates for player of the month. I remember when Doug DeCinces won it back in July of '78.

Oh... Sox fans are booing all over the place. Valentine has turned that team into a mess.

Or rather, Robert Andino turned them into a mess, Valentine is just piling on.
