Stu Pomeranz
Pomeranz is off to a terrific start at Bowie. 10.1 inninngs pitched with 18/1 K's to BB's. He was a one time prospect for the Cardinals a second round pick out of high school in 2003, maybe things are clicking for the 27 year old.

Pomeranz has been dominant so far. In addition to the terrific K:BB ratio Triple Crown mentioned, Stu has yet to give up a run in over 10 IP and has a very nice 0.680 WHIP. I think Tony's right - if he keeps this up a ticket to Norfolk is in his future. What a great acquisition, this is why you role the dice on some guys in the offseason.

I came here to post about this today and saw the thread was already made. Could be an impact arm sometime this season.

I was at the Bowie game last night and he dominated, sitting at 95 and topped at 98 with a nasty curve ball, he is ready for a challenge.

I take it his only shot is as a setup or closer role?
He never seemed to dominate a season in the minors. What is his story? I see he took off a whole season. Did he quit or was he recovering from injury?
What injuries has he had in his career?

After doing a google search it seems this guy was a second round pick many years ago. Had arm and shoulder problems and was a self described alcoholic. Claims he is clean for over a year.
With his age and obvious bloodlines he could move very very fast. If he has figured something out.

He looks like a guy who can give you two or more innings out of the pen. Definitely valuable if he maintains his stuff and command throughout the season.
