A moment to thank the Orioles organization

Just wanted to take a moment to thank the Orioles organization publicly.

The Baltimore Sun ran an article on my twin boys in late March. A few days later, Greg Bader contacted me. Shortly after Greg's e-mail, Monica Barlow contacted me. They both said that they had read our article and wanted to wish us well.

This week, the boys received a care package full of goodies from the Orioles and Ms. Barlow. One of the items we received was a signed letter from Buck. Their reaching out to us by e-mail was very thoughtful in itself. But to take the time to organize a care package for our boys, was just incredibly thoughtful and caring. Even though I won't be able to thank them enough, I'm going to try anyway.

    Thank you and Go Os!

WOW - That is very impressive! Kudo's to the O's, Greg, Monica & Buck for doing that.

This it the article that got the Orioles attention in case anyone missed it. I can assure you, Shane's wife did most of the hard work

Actually, here are several links here to the original.

Here is the new one. Video included!

Now you just have to bring Brooks to meet his namesake.

"Think positively," was Shane's advice to the parents of those two sets of twins. "Think of every appointment as a milestone, another goal."

Really cool. I sent a letter to Brooks when my son (a twin) was born. I told him that my son was named after him and several weeks later I received a envelope with 8x10 signed pic from Brooks. He is class all the way.

Great stuff Bauer. Thanks for sharing!

For all the grief the O's have put us through during the last 14 years, there are numerous stories like this that go unreported. I know Greg Bader reads here, so from someone who is in no way associated with this story, I want to also say "Thank You" to the Orioles organization!

That's great to hear. Greg and Monica should be very proud of themselves for doing something like that.

When I hear stuff like this, it makes me rethink some of my perceptions of those in the warehouse.

I believe that there are many fine people that work in the Warehouse. Orioles' video director Mike "Stash" Stashik is another one that I have had personal great contact with. Ithink that VP Janet Marie Smith is another. We all know of Peter Angelos' charitable value to the Baltimore area. As a professional sports team, I believe that the Orioles need to spend money on the on field product so we can be proud of that. But I think as Oriole fans we have much to be socially proud of.

Shane, whatever they sent you, you guys DESERVE it. We know what you guys have been through, because we've been there ourselves. The unexpected early arrival of Addy hit us pretty hard. Not only did we have to watch our baby girl grow and develop in the NICU, we had to leave her there. We lost a considerable amount of income, but we made it work. Deep down, we know it was best, but it hurt. I just don't know how you guys did it with two babies. It was torture.

I see that your guys have hair! Handsome dudes, they take after mommy! <- Lol I get that one a lot, even though Addy looks JUST LIKE ME. Lol. We have her 4 month appointment on Tuesday, we hope she weighs about 10-11lbs now.

    Best of luck dude.
