    Kelly Clarkon: Best Pop Artist of the last Decade

    Ok, so Beyonce is #1 but Clarkson has legit claim to #2. Discuss.

    Seems like Rihanna would have some claim to a spot. But I really don't like much of any today's music. A really barren landscape overall.

    Kelly is #2? No way for me. She's in my top five, however.

    Here's my list:
    1. Beyonce
    2. Alicia Keys
    3. Amy Winehouse
    4. Jennifer Lopez
    5. Kelly Clarkson

    I guess I'm just not that a big fan of Kelly to rank her #2. Great personality, though and very likeable.

    She is too cliche nowadays but maybe thats what Pop is anyways. Choruses like, "What doesn't kill you makes you stronger," and "You don't know a thing about me," screams cliche.

    I really have no love for Beyonce at all, so I wouldn't object to it. From a sheer output standpoint I think you'd have to put Rihanna #1 if Beyonce isn't there. Kelly's a superior vocalist to the both of them, in my book at least, but she doesn't have quite the body of successful songs as the others do (her one album really didn't do that well). Like I said, I don't like Beyonce, and really have never understood the fascination with Rihanna other than she's foreign and has an accent, so I wouldn't argue against Kelly being #1.

    Forgot about Alicia Keys. She's a good one too, and would be right up there.

    Wow, not at all? That's surprising to hear you say that. She can sing, great dancer and she's extremely beautiful. She seems to be one of "them" that has it all. Well, maybe not quite all, as she not much of an actress.

    Kelly, on the other hand, seems kind of bland. Great voice, but that's about it.

    5. I can't even think of a fifth, so I'm gonna give Jeff Buckley some dap for having the best voice I've ever heard.

    Do you think much of anything comes out of a music studio aimed at a pop audience that isn't manipulated these days?

    Agreed. We are talking POP MUSIC here. If they haven't been auto-tuned, then they shouldn't be on this list. For the same reason, I can't believe that this is a legitimate thread.

    It's hard for me to express how much I hate Rihanna. I will never understand the appeal and the popularity. She can't sing, has absolutely no range, and her voice sounds exactly the same in every song.
