Bill Hall to Norfolk
Ken Rosenthal is tweeting that Bill Hall will sign a minor league deal with O's and replace Josh Bell at Norfolk.

Makes sense, he plays a number of positions including 3rd(beggars can't be choosers). I also think he could possibly contribute a little more with the bat than Johnson.

I like this move...Give him some AB at Norfolk and then he can replace Nick Johnson. Could be a fix for 3b.

Well, he certainly doesn't fit into the high OBP mold, but he had some power and athleticism once. Yanks signed him to a minor league deal, but he asked to be a free agent after he didn't make the MLB roster. Guess he's had time to reconsider and sees an op here with Reynolds currently struggling/ potentially and eventually on the market and Bell gone.

If Johnson continues to struggle and show no signs of life then someone will need to take his place. The only real option would have been Antonelli but that's adding a third backup utility IF to the roster. Not that Hall isn't just that but its good to have options I suppose.

Guy was a pretty decent player a couple of seasons ago.

Bill Hall is versatile. He plays a lot of positions badly. He's a worse version of Wilson Betemit. I hope he doesn't take time away from Antonelli at 3B.

Bill Hall wouldn't be the answer as an everyday 3B, but at least he is versatile and can play the outfield, SS, and 2B.
