Hey Snutch, your new baby daughter is both cute and lovely. She would have been proud of her Dad playing "Ants-In-the-Pants" if she could have stayed awake.

I generally agree, but this Low A stuff is getting ridiculous. Three more starts in Low A wouldn't be the end of the world, but I don't think he'd gain anything from it. I have to assume that Bundy pitching 4 innings in Frederick is like him pitching 5-6 in Low A. Heck, him pitching 4 in Low A is like a bullpen session right now. I think Frederick can't come soon enough.
Personally, I just want him at a level where he can work on all of the things you mentioned. I don't mind him staying at Frederick for a while if it means that he'll get that work in. If it takes Bowie, that's where he should be in June or July. Delmarva simply isn't proving to be any challenge, so while I'm fine with starting him there, a slight acceleration of the plan should be in order, IMO.

Mighty impressive start for Bundy's career. There's enough data to believe he shouldn't be kept in Delmarva for much longer. He has to learn how to deal with situations where people can sometimes hit his stuff.

What I heard at the game the other night from a pretty reliable source is that he will get two more starts 4innings than 3 @ 5innings after that stretch himn out to 100 pitches. Which to me seems like a pretty big jump I mean he only threw 44 thru 4 last night thru 5 I would think he would be averaging somewhere between 60-65.
Do you thinks its possible he could skip fredrick all together and go straight to Bowie??Last edited by jrobb21613; 04-25-2012 at 11:21 AM.

I was at the game last night and was really impressed with how effiecent bundy was with his pitches much more so than his last outing he only threw 44 pitches 11 per inning and never once went to a 3 ball count to a hitter. He really needs to move up a level or two where guys can catch up to his kinda heat. his offspead stuff was much crisper than the last time i saw him. his breaking ball filthy low to mid 70's his change up was anywhere from 84-88. I think he took a little something off his fastball compared to his last outing last outing he was touching a 97-99 frequently where has in last night he more constantly at 95-97 and only touched 98 a couple times according to the stadium gun. I say let him continue building up his pitch count at delmarva then send him straight to bowie I wouldnt his stuff is to good for any level of A ball

Well excuse me for wanting to protect the kid. No need to get nasty.
Tony does have a point... it seems to easy for him in Delmarva. I think he'll be in Delmarva long enough to be on the All-Star team (like Machado last year) and then go to Frederick. So you're talking 4-6 more starts with the Shorebirds.
Maybe it's just the selfish part of me that wants to see him more often in my regional backyard.

I'm not being nasty. I'm calling you out for pretending to talk from a perspective of knowledge/experience regarding facts when you have literally no idea what you're talking about.
1. Are all 19 year old pitchers the same? [Was Cameron Coffey the same as Felix Hernandez?]
2. What do you know about Bundy's arm-strength, in particular? Are you familiar with his work-out regimen? His ability to carry velocity? What the O's have seen outside of his starts?
3. Are you seriously implying that a 19 year old can't handle 5 inning starts? Should we start babying all of them?
4. What evidence can you possibly have that a progression to 5 inning starts and 120 innings will have any causal nexus with TJ surgery? Have you biomechanically broken down his delivery? Taken into account his effort? Taken into account anything that has to do with Bundy in particular?

At this point he needs to move up. It's not like he's just dominating the level - he's effectively thrown a 13 inning no-hitter with 22 strikeouts. I joked about a season long no-hitter earlier - but in all seriousness he might not give up a run until July if he stays in Delmarva. He faced the top 3 in Greenville's a second time last night - a 22 yr old college player, a 1st round pick, and a 4th round pick, - and he obliterated them the second time through. He needs to be in Frederick at least.

Also the Kid Barnes for boston looked great his fastball was consistently 95-96 with lots of movement.
