However, there's no reason to jump to the conclusion that he was injured, and certainly no evidence to suggest that he was dealing in bad faith.

Spring training started over two months ago. Injuries to pitchers happen. Sucks, but bad faith? Really?
Buck made a point that he was fine when the O's signed him. Made sure to point out he got a clean bill of health during the physical. I know the O's hear all the time about damaged goods and all.

    From Roto...

Wada was recently diagnosed with ligament damage in the elbow after undergoing an MRA (magnetic resonance angiogram). For what it's worth, Yocum conducted the original physical before the Orioles inked the Japanese left-hander to a two-year, $8.15 million contract. If Yocum confirms the diagnosis, Wada could be headed for season-ending Tommy John surgery.

Thank goodness it's ONLY TJ, and that it was diagnosed now. He should be doing rehab starts by this time next year.

Obviously the Orioles did their homework on the guy. He just broke down now. Fix him and lets see what we get out of him by the all-star next year. We could really use a solid arm for a playoff push.
