So, he's only going to be a problem for up to 8 years, instead of up to 14 years?

He's a very good quarterback. Throws a much better ball than McCoy and is better suited to handle that cold, windy environment in the winter. He should be (assuming he learns the system well) the starter from day one, and will probably have success early.

I like Richardson, but I would not have moved up for him. I would have told the Vikings that if they were going to pick or deal the pick (with Richardson being the selection) I would have smiled and said "solid, we get Khalil or Blackmon". The Browns need help on offensive as much as any other team.

    The Browns could have gone:

    4: Richardson RB
    22: DeCastro G
    25: Fleener TE
    37: Weeden QB
62: Trade up to get Mahamed Sanu WR

You help your offense a great deal and still get the guys you want. You use some of those extra picks to move up in rounds 2, 3 or 4 as desired and get "that guy". The Browns mistake was reaching for Weeden at 22 as I think he would have been there at pick #37.

We are assuming that the Browns will be a problem in 2012 or 2013 and I do not. The team is better and might steal a game against the Ravens, Steelers or Bengals every now and then, but a playoff team anytime soon? I just do not see it, but they could really help themselves if they add more playmakers through the next couple drafts.

Another WR I'd look at is Cody Pearcy. You can probably get him late in the 6th or 7th. He could be a REALLY nice slot guy.

Also looks like Pagano likes Upshaw a lot as the Ravens do as well. The Ravens better hope the Colts take the Luck connection route and take Martin or Fleener.

I agree that the comparison to Peterson isn't valid and that he isn't #3 in the draft value considering the overall value of backs in this league right now is down. He simply doesn't have the explosion that Peterson has. That isn't a dig on him because I don't think anyone with Peterson's size/strength has that explosion. I'm also not too worried about Richardson running over Ray because 1) Ray will be 37 at the beginning of the season, Richardson should be able to do so, 2) he still won't run over Ray as Ray has never lost the overall battle to a runningback he has faced more than once or twice. He eventually submits every guy he faces and I expect Ray to do the same to Richardson for at least one year.

BTW I understand that it isn't simply Ray v. the offense or Ray v. Richardson, but it is simply amazing to step back every once and awhile and look at how good our run defense has been for the past 10+ years. Ray has been that constant force.

They probably could have but you really can't mess around with QBs. If you think a guy is THAT guy, you take him early if need be.

Teams are going to be looking to trade up for Janoris Jenkins so there will be a market to trade down if the Ravens are interested.

The Colts are going to draft Fleenor .,..TE is a serious position of need after losing Dallas Clark. Hill is likely the Rams unless they rate R Randle higher. The Ravens probably take Glenn or Upshaw if they stay. Im not surprised to see they might have interest and id expect they be ok with moving down 1-5 slots. I think any more of that is a mistake Id still like to get Upshaw as he's a sure 1st round talent. I guess the Ravens dont consider OLB a major need if they pass on him again.

There is still Ronnell Lewis possibly in the late 2nd if they want to take a OG/OT first. Lewis is a pretty effective pass rusher and love Ray Lewis.

On NFL network a reporter on site says they are hot and heavy to move up for Jenkins. They have 2. Seconds ...I believe 13 & 17.

Its actually 13 and 19. Would our two 2's equal theirs? We have 3 and 29. Maybe we get a later round pick as well?

    Acutally it's 14 & 19..... I'd think we'd get another selection.

If you do the math on the pick calculator, we should get an early 7th rounder as well...

Edit: Actually, I think Philly's 6th rounder would work.

I'd be asking for their 2 picks for our 1st. They are likely getting a first rounder in Jenkins for that slot and will get no such value at their selection.
