Nice outing from Bridwell. FWIW, he and Bundy appear to have developed a good relationship (based on Bundy's tweets). Hopefully some of Bundy's preparation and intensity will rub off. Not saying Bridwell is lazy, but Bundy is hard core.

I really hope they move up together through the ranks. It will be a nice one two punch.

    - Clayton Schrader needs a promotion to Bowie. Let's face it, he's too good for the Carolina League as the 22-year old right-hander has allowed just two hits 12.2 innings while striking out 18. His bugaboo has always been his control and he's walked ten, but its time to see if his effectively wild stuff works at the next level. Schrader throws hard (93-95) and has a hammer Curve ball. Time to see if he can get Double-A guys out despite the walks. Plus, it will make Stotle happy.
    - Richard Zagone lost his fastball a few years ago and the last few years he's been 84-86 MPH. He's not a prospect really, but if I were the Orioles, I'd put him in the pen and see if he can be a LOOGY. He's always been tough on lefties and no use running him out there to start unless its to eat innings.
    - In an interesting development, Nicky Delmonico played second base last night. He had handled three chances flawlessley. Nicky told me earlier in the year that he was working out at second so he may see some time there. If Delmonico can stay at second base, his prospect value would go through the roof.
    - Parker Bridwellhas been a bit disappointing this year until last night when he tossed six shutout innings allowing just two hits and two walks while striking out six. When I saw him a few weeks a go he started out 93-95 in the first inning but his velocity dropped to 92-93 in the second and held at 90-92 the rest of the game. He flashed a nice change and slider but he wasn't consistent with the pitch and his fastball had some life, but didn't have the sink I saw at Aberdeen last year. The other good news is that Bridwell is nowhere near filling out yet. He could put on a good 10-15 pounds in his legs and buttocks and he's probably jump his velocity a good 2-3 MPH easy. Hopefully having Bundy as a teammate and friend for a while will rub off.
    - If/when Bridwell and Glenn Davis ever put on some muscle onto their frames they could really see a jump in their prospect status. Both have some very nice raw tools, but both need to mature into their bodies.

weams, you have to know that Bundy is going to be gone from Delmarva in a blink, while Bridwell is likely to spend the full season there. I will be very surprised if they are ever minor league teammates again after Bundy gets promoted. Even if Bridwell does well enough to warrant a mid-season promotion this year (which I rather doubt and may not be a good idea in any event), by that time there's a good chance Bundy is in Bowie.

Bridwell has a good arm but he is not that polished and needs to be developed patiently the next couple of years, like Britton was.

Tony, I have really enjoyed these little prospect blurbs you've been posting in the nightly game report threads from time to time.

One thing that Scottie used to do that would make these threads better is in the OP he'd say which affiliates won and lost that night, in addition to posting the link to the game reports. It's nice to be able to get the results in a blink if you don't have time to go to the detailed reports right then.

Bridwell and Bundy have established a good relationship. I think two good athletes like these two will make each other better. I would say that anyone that mentions lazy and Bridwell in the same sentence doesn't know a thing about Bridwell. Coaches in the organization praise Bridwell's work ethics. If you've paid attention to Laske on broadcast you need to remember Bridwell was a three sport star. This translate to probably very little time on the diamond. Bundy is far more developed and will move much faster but I'd bet Bridwell will not be far behind. That's my 2-cents and I hope I'm right for the Orioles fans such as myself.

I don't think anyone thinks Bridwell is lazy. However, you would be hard pressed to find anyone who appears to work as hard as Bundy from everything that has been said and is available on YouTube from the time he was 14.

I think there are many of us that hope that Bundy's intensity spreads throughout the organization much like Brady's has begun to spread at the major league level.
