I love this pick, Upshaw is going to be a beast and fits in really well with our D. It's going to be interesting to see how they use this kid this season, I would have to think Kruger will get the most playing time in J.J's spot this year with Courtney getting most of his time rushing the passer.

I actually think Upshaw is the better option for setting the edge/playing on running downs while Kruger may actually be the better pass rusher at this point. I know a lot of people won't agree with this but I think Kruger took a huge step forward as a pass rusher last year. Upshaw has a good motor and is strong but I think will still have to develop some moves to become a top-level pass rusher in the league. I think he outmuscled guys in college but that won't happen nearly as often at the NFL level and since he isn't a freak athlete he will have to hone his craft somewhat.
The fact that he is shorter and more compact and overall stronger than Kruger will allow him to be better against the run than Kruger right away IMO.
It will be interesting to see how Kruger, Upshaw, Kindle (if he is healthy and makes the team), and McAdoo (if he steps up like we hope) get PT. I am very much of the belief that you can never have enough pass rushers. The Giants have shown that is probably the most effective way to stop the pass happy teams these days. Wave after wave of pass rushers. I'm excited.
