Out of curiosity, do you not have to buy a card when you wish your wife a happy birthday on a message board (where she actually posts)?

Happy birthday, D.

First, thanks for the good wishes. As for plantings, we each (at work) received a complimentary Japanese maple from one of our suppliers, so I've put that in a large container out front and can't wait to see how it progresses. And yes, I know they take eons to grow
I also want to see how the Mandevilla and Hibiscus that were fished out of the trash last fall, then kept alive in the Master Bedroom all winter (thank you weams!) will fare once put out onto the deck. Two small shrub roses were also rescued from the dumpster and overwintered up there, are going crazy right now and one is blooming already. Otherwise, all of the perennials are delighting me by coming back full and strong, especially the Amsonia right now. So much fun!

So, what flowers are you planning on planting in your backyard this year? Your last year's fun in the dirt was a real work of art. I hope you're up for the new challenge this year. Good luck with your gardening.
