Roberts can still hit. Andino may be statistically a better fielder percentage wise, but Roberts could make plays to his right and left that Andino sometimes has trouble with.

I am not an Andino hater. His numbers are very skewed due to a small sample size they will go down and average out and people will calm down. He is doing well at the 9 spot and being around average/slightly above average second baseman.

I was not the person who brought this up...

There's really no debate on this. IF Roberts is healthy enough to get on the field he will play. As Buck has mentioned Roberts will be at second and they will find a place for Andino.

DD on XM said that if Roberts could ever come back Andino would make a great 3B.

It would be interesting to see what we would do with Andino if 3b wasn't a position of need.

I don't see Roberts as being able to play every day if he comes back. He'll play some 2B and DH and get days off. Andino would play some 3B, SS, 2B when BRob is not in.

I've said this too at times but when I step back and think about it if he is healthy enough to come back and the team wants to move forward with him I think he plays pretty much everyday at 2B after a few weeks of easing him back in. He is either going to be cleared and able to play as much as he wants or not cleared and unable to play at all. I don't think there will be much in between with his condition.

    end of discussion
I had to double check that date of this post...turns out that it in fact wasn't posted in or before 2009.

I'm not talking about his concussion symtoms I'm talking about his stamina. The season is a grind and Roberts has always had trouble keeping up his weight. He will be starting out scrawnier than he has ever been.

I think the DD statement probably shows what they are thinking. If and when Roberts comes back it wont be full time and Andino will still get most of the playing time at second and move to third on days Roberts can play.

    That'll work.

We shall see. This is such a mysterious process.
