You wouldn't catch me at Dodger Stadium, but I guess they've decided to clean things up. Still wouldn't go there. Lets says it's a lot less likely to happen in ANA or SD. You can go to the latter two and wear and opposing jersey and chear for your team with a lot less liklehood of being assaulted imo. You'll just take some friendly ribbing.

I'm careful in lots of places in California. LA is probably just as bad.
NYC is not NY. LA is not CA
Again, you're not hurting my feelings at all.

Being heckled and whatnot is par for the course - I mean, I expect that Duke fans that come to Comcast to get roasted, right? But physical violence? Pretty rare - though I probably wouldn't hang out in the bleachers with the "Creatures."

I feel for McNulty's story - inexcusable behavior. I've never been to Yankee Stadium when it mattered - i.e., high pressure, intense rivalry context - and I can imagine that it gets pretty crazy (ask Cliff Lee's wife). But, for the most part, I've never had any problems over the 20-25 games I've gone to. That said, my tix are usually pretty good, and that matters (like any real estate).

Also, can I just say that calling me "Lawyer Jim" is just douche-y. If you don't know anything about someone (like what I actually do, or where I live, or where I've lived, or where I'm from), let's hold off on the assumptions. Thanks.

I found that after the game when it was already too late. I looked during the game on my iPhone and couldn't find it.

I'm a huge NY Giants fan to go along with being an O's fan. I'm embarrassed to be affiliated with their fans (although they're not nearly as bad as Eagles fans). Whenever I tell people that I'm a Giants fan, I place the disclaimer that I'm not a fan of their fans.

    Jets fans are still worse.

Bad fans are everywhere. I've only missed 8 Ravens games in Baltimore and have seen some of the worst stuff from our own fans.

The one I'll never forget is the 40 year old drunk guy telling a 12 year old girl walking up the aisle to come sit on his face. He was making hand gestures as well. The poor girl just grabbed her father's hand and hid behind him.

If that was my daughter I would've carried him to the top of the upper deck and dropped him off.

Sorry to go off on the tangent, this topic conjures up that scene for me. Back to Lawyer Jim.

Stay away from Section 328. I have been to 20 baseball stadiums and 99 % of the people are nice. Some just come for a fight or get boozed up and get rowdy.

Oddly enough, the Yankees weren’t even playing the Red Sox when it happened Friday. The fan just happened to be wearing her Boston pride on her head when the video shows her arguing with a group of men and women. She’s seen wrestling until she falls backward, banging her head against metal railing. Later, we see a woman pulling the Red Sox fan’s hair.

Oh, I fully agree. To be honest, I don't find Giants fans as bad as Yankees fans, but Giants fans are typically Yankees fans. My wife wore her Ed Reed jersey to the old Giants stadium a few years ago, and she only got some light ribbing from some guys that was essentially their way of flirting with her. I fully expect to get lambasted at M&T this year for wearing my Parcell's sweater.

My buddy and I had to sprint out of Yankee Stadium the year that we were going for the sweep to begin the year, and Chris Ray gave up a 450 foot blast to Arod to end the game. I threw my hat inside my jacket, zipped it, and took off for the exit.

I've had my fair share of run-ins with Yankees fans over the years, none worse than OD a few years ago when Izturis took CC yard. I was defending Ripken, and seemed to be the only one in the section. A 45 year old with miniature bats in his pocket jumped over a few rows before my brother intervened and somehow stopped the guy.

I love NY. My brother lives in the upper west side. Yankees fans give the town a bad name as far as I'm concerned.

It's wrong to talk about all fans with sweeping brush strokes like that. Unless it's a Philly team.

I wanted to be respectful since I was probably the only Orioles fan in my section. Also, I am just recently coming off back surgery less than 2 weeks ago, so I can't move that well and have to walk with a cane. I did not want to cause any problems with fans.

During the 6th inning when we were threatening to score, Adam Jones hit a deep fly ball to center. When he first hit it, "I said 'Get Out of Here,' only to realize the ball was eventually going to be caught." Apparently, that really ticked off a Yankees fan in front of me. He started yelling at me to shut up or he would punch me. I talked back to him, saying I was not talking to him but cheering for my team, something any fan is allowed to do. He then went right up to me and grabbed my throat to choke me then walked away. I tried looking for an usher or fan assistance text number, but couldn't find any. I couldn't really defend myself because of my recent surgery. Other Yankees fans around me were supportive of me, and couldn't believe what that fan did, considering I am technically crippled. I cannot believe a fan would stoop that low. Fans can yell and heckle all they want, but when it gets physical, that takes it to another level.

So am I asking you all whether or not I should contact the Yankees about this issue. I am not sure what can be done. This incident is not going to stop me from going to Yankee Stadium, but it definitely made me realize how classless Yankees fans are, considering the Yankees organization itself is very classy.
Don't call the Yankees - call Outside the Lines. They'll make the stink of all stinks about this given your current condition, and you'll probably get on TV.

These folks all seem to deserve each other (though obviously I don't want to see anyone get hurt).

I do think football fans are the worst. I stopped traveling to Ravens road games after having a similar incident to calhof2007 at Paul Brown Stadium in 2001 (ironically, the first game after 9/11). I still travel to O's road games and haven't had too many problems, including at Yankee Stadium. However, the O's haven't exactly been a threat to the home teams over the past decade and a half.

It's NYC - home of idiots. Unless it's on video and/or you have some good witnesses, I'm not sure what's to be done as far as the Yankees go. I guess you could probably file a police report and go from there, especially if you can identify him by his seat number and have witnesses.
I'm not sure what the point of this comment is. Are you saying that he should have expected to or deserved to be physically assaulted for cheering at a baseball game?
