The 2nd wave of Free Agency
Last year, we picked up McKinnie and Gurode during the 2nd wave of free agency. There are still some solid options out there. After the draft, teams are reshuffling their rosters and looking to bolster their team with vets that may still be available. A lot of what we do hinges on getting Joe and Ray's deal done, so the sooner that happens the better. I've said before that I think we need to add a WR. Also, we should add another OL and possibly a 3rd TE. Let's throw some names out there that y'all are interested in and who you think would be a good fit for the 2012 Baltimore Ravens.
A few names that come to mind:
OL Jason Brown
OL Eric Steinbach
WR Jabar Gaffney
WR Greg Camarillo

Ravens bring back a familiar face...DT Ma'ake Kemoeatu has signed a deal with the Ravens. He did not play in 2011 because of an injury. Always liked "Kemo" when he was here. We have a ton of DT's on this team right now.

Didn't McKinney go to Indi with Pagano. Considering he's 33 this has to be a pure depth move. McPhee will play more DE than DT anyway. Of those three guys Cody is the only NT. Which is an important cog to this DL here.

Ma'ake was signed as depth, Art Jones will probly be starting for Redding. I liked Ma'ake when he was here 02-05' but he's had bad achilles injuries the last few years and is running out of gas, if I had to guess he will be battling UDFA NT Nick Jean-Baptiste and NT Is'maaily Kitchen to replace Brandon Mckinney. All of them have Mckinney's size, Kemo 6-5 365, Kitchen 6-3 335, Jean-Baptiste 6-2 335.

I also don't see us going after G/C Jason Brown anymore after drafting Osemele and Gradkowski who between the two have us covered.

Yep, just a lot of good competition. In a baltimoreravens.com chat yesterday, which I highly recommend everyone read, there was this-
That would be Kitchen.Comment From Greg C
Which of the undrafted FAs has the chance to be the next Bart Scott, Priest Holmes, etc.?

Eric DeCosta:
We haven't officially signed and UFAs so I can't specifically talk about them. But I will say we agreed to terms with a nose tackle from the MAC that we're very excited about.

We really play with a LB, DT, NT, DE, LB type front. Ngata typically mans the DT spot. Cody is the starting NT and the DE was rotated amongst McPhee/Jones/Redding types. It's not set in stone though. That's why you need depth guys that can play in multiple roles.
This just shows a pretty big lack of understanding of how our system works. His time is ultimately dependent on the breaks Cody/Ngata will need. End of story.
