May 1, 2012!!
I don't know if this is a turning point in Oriole history but tonight feels like it. Only time will tell but tonight..
Our highest touted pitching prospect gets behind 3-1 on the second batter of the night and he hits it to the moon. A reason for him to fold it in.
The next batter hits a broken bat BS base hit. How many times have we seen this play in the last 14 years? It has mostly ended as did for Mr. Lincoln..
Not tonight at least.
Oh it happens to be the manager's 1000th win. A manager that I feel has a chance to at least to me feels to be at least the third best in Oriole history behind Weaver and Davey Johnson. As earl says your as only good as your next day's starting pitcher but I like that as well.
Is there a better bullpen in baseball right now then O'Day, Strop, Patton, Linstrom, Ayala and Johnson?
I am toasting a Grand Mariner' and enjoying at least the moment!!

And this BP is not being over-used, very nice.

Im with you. Well I dont think so much that is was a turning point for the Orioles themselves, but I feel like it was the point where we, the fans, know that this O's team is the real deal.

Two games in a row, the pitching has done an exceptional job against a top offense.

I think the team finally believes that they can compete. The past two Septembers have proved something, and it is starting to click with some of our bigger question marks. I can't put enough emphasis on the affect of Andino. I think his injection of swagger and bravado into our game-to-game schedule has really invigorated our team. Buck has finally found a group of players the he is confident in, and I'm very excited to see where we can go; we'll certainly know more by the end of this stretch, but one thing's for sure, this team is finally fun to watch.

I'll be interested to see where their offense ends up. Obviously Jeter and Granderson are hitting out of their minds and Cano is going to step up at some point.
But Rodriguez and Teixeira have been in decline, and after that you sort have a lot of role-type players.
I'll never count the Yankees out, but I have to say this looks to me like one their weaker teams in recent memory.

Well, we're in a rough stint against the Sox, Rangers, and Rays. Rangers and Rays can pitch like crazy, and Texas hits like Mike Tyson in his prime. I wouldn't be surprised to see a hefty losing streak during this time.
